Hospital Bag Checklist - What to Pack?

Start packing at around your 8th month of pregnancy to make sure that you're ready for your baby's big arrival. Here are some suggestions on what to bring with you.

For you:

  • 2 nightdresses

  • A few pairs of comfortable knickers

  • Heavy-duty sanitary pads

  • A shawl or dressing gown

  • Slippers or flip-flops

  • A pair of warm socks

  • Breast pads, lanolin cream (for tender nipples) and nursing bras if choosing to breastfeeding

  • Your phone and charger

  • Toiletries and cosmetics

  • Lip balm

  • A comfortable outfit to wear home

  • Body lotion or massage oil

  • Hospital file/notes

  • Birth plan (if you have one)

For your baby:

  • 3 full-body onesies that fasten at the front

  • Socks, mittens and hat

  • Going-home outfit, including a hat and blanket
